Working as a Launch Engineer you will be accountable for the management and coordination of key business functions to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved, and a right first time mindset is embedded among key production areas.
You will coordinate on time, to cost targets, with measurable quality standard achievements.
The role requires a forward thinker, a strong time manager with the ability to complete a number of customer projects at any one time. Tier 1/2 Automotive experience is essential. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing, Suppliers and the Marketing, Sales & Service activities. The successful candidate will work initially on Jaguar programmes.
1. Experience of working in a launch, programme management or New Product Introduction environment.
2. Good communicator, both verbal, writent and presentations
3. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Problem solving skills and techniques
New Model Programme Co-ordination as part of a small team.
Compilation of launch plans for the respective Model Year programmes from through to the "OK to Ship" milestone and Job#1 + 90 Days.
Accurate and objective status reporting of key aspects of Programme Health at Senior Management Reviews and Programme Gateways through the application of LQOS and other agreed programme deliverables.
Ownership for delivering NMP owned LQOS activities
Leading build planning meetings for pre-volume manufacturing builds for minor programmes
Supporting spec/BoM validation.
Preparing/compiling materials and participation in weekly Launch Management Meetings. Supporting Open to Go meetings plus liaison to Change Management meetings to include Alerts.
Co-ordination of pre-volume vehicle rework requirements and plans using the RIS database and FMS.
Support teams in the structured problem resolution of launch issues.
Promote continuous improvement via Lessons to be Learned and the determination and use of best practice .
To be successful, you’ll ideally bring experience within new product introduction with a flair for working effectively in both multifunctional teams and individually. A degree in a relevant discipline would be desirable.
Skills, experience and qualifications
Engineering or manufacturing background.
Experience in vehicle program management or new model introduction activities preferable. Ability to co-ordinate multifunctional teams.
Must have a thorough, logical approach to issues, with high attention to detail.
Personable, a good communicator of both written and verbal information. ¿ Knowledge of structured problem solving skills.
PC literate, good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Prior experience with AIM’s and engineering releasing preferable (WERS basic knowledge). Outline knowledge of LQOS, launch processes, systems & practices preferable.
Able to work individually or as part of a multi-functional team.
Pro-active self-starter, demonstrates initiative and dynamic approach.
Flexible with respect to travel, work load and start/finish times. .
Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline

Rate of Pay
£40,000.00 – £50,000.00 per year
